Book Fair – The Book People

To support reading for pleasure ‘The Book People’ will be bringing a wide selection of books for you and your child to purchase so that you can enjoy reading them together at home. The books are all very reasonably priced. Remember Christmas is just around the corner.

“Lest We Forget” day

This day in schoolwe will all be exploring different elements of The First and Second World War. We will be having discussion and debate groups, researching and remembering as many facts as possible “lest we forget”.

Anti-Bullying – Odd Socks Day

Our ‘wear odd socks day’ is in recognition of all those who have suffered from bullying or are experiencing this, to come together and stand up to bullying. Springbank has a zero tolerance of bullies and it will be a day to discuss and debate how in life we can deal with bullying in its various forms.

Anti-Bullying Week – “Change Starts With Us”. STOP, SPEAK, SUPPORT

We will be supporting Anti-Bullying Week by focusing on the four types of bullying. We will be presenting our learning in assemblies at 3:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday parents/carers are welcome. Springbank has a zero tolerance of bullies and it will be a day to discuss and debate how in life we can deal with bullying.

18.11.19 – 22.11.19 CHECK MY PROGRESS WEEK – A time for teachers and children to explore their learning progress. Discussion groups, book looks and pupil learning surveys will all be carried out. Targets for future learning will then be set and shared with parents/carers in TLC’s.

This year we are hosting restaurants differently. Each year group will host their own restaurant based on a theme that fits in with the wider curriculum parents will be invited to join us.

Key Stage 2 Music Showcase Please come and join us to watch your child or children in Year 3/4 take part in a musical showcase at 11:00am until 12:00pm. Please be in the hall by 10.45am. Year 5/6 children will showcase their musical skills at 1:00pm until 2:00pm. Please be in the hall by 12:45pm.

The programme of events will follow. Nursery, Reception and Key Stage 1 will be showcasing their musical skills at the Nativity on the 20thDecember.

This year our Christmas Experience will have a “Shine and Sparkle” theme. Tickets required. The event including the disco will start at 4:30pm until 6:30pm. As usualthere will be experiences for the whole family to enjoy with lots of fun for everyone. Don’t forget to book for the grotto!

Please note there will be no after school clubs on this day.

17.12.19 Mrs Williams’ KS2 Christmas Bingo at 1:30pm in the School Hall. If your child is in Years 3, 4, 5 or 6 please join us if you can. It’s great fun and there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Please sign up to bring in extra treats. The sheets will be on classroom doors. Always an enjoyable day.

Followed by Don Chambers Magic Show – KS1 -1:45pm and KS2 – 2:45pm

Christmas Breakfast – will be served in school for parents and carers to enjoy while they wait to go to the church.

We can then walk up to the church together.

Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will perform their

Nativity play at St Mary’s Church. Start time 10:30am.

20.12.19 Christmas Lunch. Please come and join us for our Christmas lunch, don’t forget to wear your Christmas Jumper, if you wishfor this special event. The staff Christmas card fund and any donations sent in on this day will be going to our TESO twin school, to provide much needed resources.
